Project 52: Week 2

Roll #2 - Kodak Portra 400 @ ISO 200, Voightlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4 II MC, Leica M2

I used my second roll of Portra 400 this week, but instead of rating it at box speed, I decided to overexpose by 1 stop.

I started the roll with a few shots at the Palace of Fine Arts and a Golden Gate Bridge overlook in San Francisco. The third photo (below) is of two former athletes who stopped by my office for a visit. The rest of the roll was shot at a Santa Clara Men’s Basketball game.

I really love the way these photos came out. The skin tones are soft, but feel very accurate. I love how the red ‘jumps out’ on the photo, while still being subdued and soft. I’m looking forward to taking more portraits the next time I shoot with Portra 400.
