Project 52: Week 3

Roll #2 - Kodak Portra 800 @ ISO 400, Voightlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4 II MC, Leica MP

I switched to a different roll of film this week, Kodak’s Portra 800. After reading multiple reviews on the film, I decided to shoot the roll at ISO 400.

The results felt light & ‘airy’. These may not be technical terms, but that’s how I would describe the photos.

In addition to switching to a different roll of film this week, I also switched camera bodies. I returned the Leica M2 and picked up a new Leica MP. I am still using myLightMeter (iOS App), but now after adjusting my settings, I can make micro-adjustments with the camera up to my face while using the MP’s light meter.

Purchasing the MP was a HUGE step for me. The M2 was my first analog camera, which I’d only possessed for two weeks. This purchase signifies a complete shift in my feelings about photography and I’m looking forward to the the work I’m going to produce over the next few years.

Up next… Ilford HP5 for my first foray in to Black & White photography.
